Singing sea shanty's....
Thanks to Charity at The Pound in Corsham for the lovely review below...Would love to make a return next year :)
“It was a pleasure to welcome Jim back to The Pound, Corsham. His unique sound was warmly received and everyone was singing along to sea shanty’s by the end, it was a delight to hear!”

On a wild and wet October evening...
We wandered over to Wiltshire last night for The Pound festival in Corsham...Just as we arrived the heavens opened...I wasn't sure if anyone would brave the wild and wet October evening but it was grand to see a fine turn out...and you all brought your fantastic singing voices with you as well...Thank you it was most appreciated :)
Corsham and The Pound always make me welcome and I was so pleased that you all enjoyed joining in with 'Pull it up Boys'...'You've got to have Faith' and especially 'Corsham Town'...
All together now...'So wherever I may wander and wherever I am found...There'll always be a part of me that's in Corsham Town...In Corsham Town'

In Corsham Town In Corsham Town...
The Pound Arts Centre is in Corsham in Wiltshire and I played on friday evening to a very warm and receptive audience...It was a pleasure to play as everyone joined in with my sing along songs and not only that, they all clapped and cheered in all the right places!...I played 'In Corsham Town' at the end of the night and it was enjoyed by all with it's lyrics about the local area...I met some lovely people who were kind enough to give me some great feedback about my songs and how much they had connected with them...It is truly inspiring to hear that a lyric has touched someone's life...Thanks for all your kind comments...It is very much appreciated.
All the best to Elliot, who is learning guitar and taking an award to further his aims of becoming a songwriter and performer....He travelled with his Mum, Michelle, all the way from Marlborough to hear and meet me as she wanted to give him the experience of what it is like to be a solo Acoustic Artist ( What a fantastic Mum...He will go far with all your support I am sure!)...I was honoured to help with Elliot's fledgling career ...Hope the interview will help you and give you some tips Elliot...If you ever want to email me about anything please do...info@jimchorley.com
So if you are ever over in the Wiltshire area and are looking for a day/evening out... I thoroughly recommend Corsham and The Pound...They serve great tea and cake as well...Here's the link to them...www.poundarts.org.uk

Thanks Heather...Ash...The Lights in Andover and Jackie Oates...
A big thanks to Heather Whittam ( Your support of my music is priceless!) for booking me to play as support for Jackie Oates at The Lights in Andover... Also thanks to Ash the sound man who gave me a lovely sound...To Tina and my 'Polo and crisp' friend behind the bar for kind words about my set ( C.D on it's way ) and Jean from CastleDown Radio...http://www.castledownradio.info/ Steve for making us so welcome and the lovely audience who joined in with 'Pull it up Boys' and clapped and laughed in all the right places!......I thoroughly recommend giving The Lights a visit...It truly is a gem of a venue!
And of course a huge thanks to Jackie Oates for the opportunity to be her support...Her songs were beguiling and thoroughly enchanting...with Tristan's guitar playing and song about his childhood knitted dog/friend a perfect accompaniment to warm the heart and soul on a wet and windy February evening...All the best for the rest of the tour.

Stay Free.....
This still means as much to me know as it did thirty years ago...In fact maybe more...When I listen to it it takes me back to remembering old friends who are no longer with us and singing it while bunking off school along the Millbrook Road in Southampton...I was singing it to my 11 yr old Daughter yesterday and she said...'Did you write that Dad'? I said no but it has inspired me to think and write songs about my own experience for most of my life...
So...'Go easy...Step lightly...Stay Free'
